5 iPhone Battery Problems You Should Know About

Are you planning on switching over to an iPhone? Or do you already have one but want to know what common battery issues it encounters? You’re in the right place. Wireless Whiz’s experts will give you insights on common iPhone battery issues and when you should get an iPhone battery replacement.

  1. Draining too quickly

While fast battery drains are not uncommon for all battery-powered devices, iPhones tend to be one of the most popular devices that have this issue. Even for out-of-the-box iPhones that are a few months old, a battery that drains too fast is a problem.

The cause of your iPhone’s battery draining too fast for your usage requirements could be the apps that you run, how frequently you charge your iPhone, your network settings, and display settings.

You might also have “Background App Refresh” turned on, which takes some battery juice because it fetches new data for your installed apps in the background. You can easily turn this off in Settings > General > Background App Refresh. Tap “Background App Refresh” and set it to “Off.”

If you’ve done what you can such as make sure your “Cellular Data,” “Wi-Fi,” and apps not in use are closed but still get short usage hours before you need to charge your iPhone again, then it’s time to get an iPhone battery replacement.

  1. Getting hot while in use or charging

Similar to quick battery drains, an iPhone battery getting hot while the device is in use or plugged into a wall socket is a common problem pestering users. If you get this often, you shouldn’t ignore it because it can cause significant damage to your iPhone. It might even put you in danger because your iPhone’s battery is flammable.

While in use, your iPhone can get hot if you’re running demanding applications, have “Cellular Data,” “Personal Hotspot” turned on, or because of any other reason that involves having your iPhone turned on. Simply put, heat isn’t unique to iPhones.

You can always let your iPhone cool down by restarting it or leaving it off for a few minutes to make sure it cools itself down while not in use. Importantly, your iPhone will turn off automatically if it gets too hot and it’ll let you know that it’s cooling itself down.

If overheating is a persistent issue with your iPhone, don’t delay getting an iPhone battery replacement.

  1. Long charging times

Slow charging is caused by two factors: first, your charger is of bad quality, and second, you need to get an iPhone battery replacement because your battery is nearing the end of its life.

For a new iPhone, it’s unusual for the battery to juice up slowly. But if you’re using an off-brand charger with it, it’s time to get an Apple-certified one. It’s not expensive and is a great investment. You can also save yourself from bad quality chargers catching fire and depleting your iPhone battery health.

If it’s an iPhone that’s ears or months old but is taking a long time to get fully charged, you might be looking at a depleted battery that needs replacement. If the battery is depleted, you also can’t use it for a long time. It’s not worth the stress, so we highly recommend you get an iPhone battery replacement as soon as possible to prevent further issues with your iPhone.

Lastly, the fault can also be on your charging port. While this part of the iPhone is made to last through years of plugging and unplugging, they’re not invincible. They can be worn out or destroyed by liquid. Best to get your iPhone checked for both charging port and battery issues to make sure you find out what iPhone repair you need.
